BY AYAN PATEL
RELEASE DATE: 8 April 2022
DIRECTOR: David Yates
DISTRIBUTED BY: Warner Bros., Warner Bros. Pictures
WRITERS: J.K. Rowling - Steve Kloves
CAST: Eddie Redmayne - Jude Law - Ezra Miller
RUNTIME: 2h 22m
AGE RATING: 12A
GENRE: Family – Adventure – Fantasy
REVIEW: The third film in the Fantastic Beasts series has fewer beasts more Wizards and only one Muggle. The cast is very promising and the plot is about the rise of Dumbledore. Hence there is slightly less focus on Newt.
The film opens with a Fantastic Beast and ends with one, but on the way, there are very few magical animals that will catch your attention. Humour is less compared to the Harry Potter series. Locations change from China to New York to London and Bhutan!
Mostly the film is talkative and lacks action. Special effects don’t impress. The spells aren’t captivating. Being connected to the eventful Harry Potter series the film is a key link.
Do not wait for an end credits scene…they made it disappear.
Enjoy on the big screen!
