REVIEW: The Alien franchise has evolved a lot over the decades. The theme remains the same—Aliens wreck havoc on a spaceship. However, the alien lifeform gets a continuous upgrade across the series of films.
The 2024 film is the story of a crew that sets on a mission to extract something of their interest from an unidentified Space Station. The story picks up quickly as they embark on this mission, totally unaware of the welcome they enrolled for. The first thrilling moment comes without Alien involvement. Soon the main character takes center stage. Less gory in the beginning, it soon becomes bloody acidic. All spine and less flesh, this Alien is deadly. The graphics are good and the situational thrill gives the audience many moments of surprise. The cast did a good job (mostly dying). Humour is absent. Background score is less evident (its quiet out there in Space).
Overall, a good movie on the same old plot. Expect nothing new. It could have been more thrilling, if the Jurassic Park team or Venom would have been involved.
Enjoy!
